Church on the Street is committed to not only being activley supportive for the poor, homeless and marginalized, but also being with them in the midst of their struggles and loneliness. In addition Church on the Street provides opportunities for the church to theologically reflect on issues - such as church practices and public policy - that relate directly to vulnerable persons. Instead of creating new drop in centers, shelters or food services, Church on the Street goes to parks, street corners, bridges and slums where the chronically homeless and extremely poor "live" in order to develop consistent, loving, unconditional relationships and community through which one's self-understanding and dignity of being part of the human family is reclaimed.
